“During my student exchange experience, I have experienced several changes in my academic approach, mainly related to the development of new skills. Entering classes in an unfamiliar environment, I have been forced to cultivate self-confidence and leave behind shyness. Furthermore, in European universities, I have had the opportunity to interact with diverse cultures, not only Spanish. Within my classroom, I have classmates of many nationalities, which has given me the opportunity to learn about each of them. their cultures. Despite being in a Spanish-speaking country, I am in constant contact with people who speak other languages. For example, my roommate is from the Czech Republic and my closest friend here is Italian, which has made me forced to develop my communication skills as we communicate in English. As far as my personal perspective is concerned, increasing self-confidence and independence have been crucial aspects of my growth. Learning to be alone has been one of the most difficult challenges, but also one of the most enriching.”

“This experience meant for me to obtain a higher level of essential aim for me to achieve reality in personal and academic terms. Understanding how different European nations exist in the world and in the labor market meant a break and in some cases confirmation of the stereotypes that one holds about different cultures and nationalities. Since this experience will help me a lot with respect to communication because I think I was vivid in Spain, the language that was most useful was English to communicate with my friends and classmates.

In the second place, it will help me to be able to share key experiences with future colleagues and collaborators which is essential to establish good relationships in the working environment and ultimately I will be taught to see the world from a much broader perspective that encompasses the national context as much as the world.”

“This exchange has allowed me to be a more empathetic person, especially with those companions who are from the region or live alone, because I live it and it is difficult to reconcile the studies with the challenges of the home or the one who does not count with you are looking for help. Consequently, I also made myself value more my friends and my people. Since the exchange also increased my efforts to continue knowing the world, so that I would like to finish my career, I want to realize other studies in it foreigners and learning new languages. This experience also allowed me to empathize with foreigners, which is why it motivated me to participate in the elective practice of migrants and refugees.”

“I think it has been one of my best experiences in life, if you asked me if I would do it again my answer would be a resounding yes. I think being surrounded by so many diverse people from different parts of the world teaches us to have different perspectives on our careers, ourselves, being alone teaches us to know each other and give us a unique self-confidence, being here has shown me how unique each one of us is. When they told me that the exchange was the best they could do, I didn’t measure how good it was Here I made a beautiful group of friends from many parts of the world that I will always have in my heart.

Regarding Loyola University, I really liked the experience, everyone was always concerned about me, the teachers were exceptional, they were always willing to help, to take additional classes, they were available if we needed anything, many of the teachers put chili peppers in the classes, so that everyone could learn about Chile because Marlene and I are from there. When I chose Córdoba it was never my first option, but after living here I totally recommend it, everything is walkable here, your friends live nearby (this allowed me to create very strong friendships, we were almost a family), the university is very close, it is a relatively cheap city, a city full of history, very happy and beautiful people.!

“Going on an exchange was a wonderful experience. I learned and got a lot out of the university that received me in Barcelona, I was able to travel to cities in Spain and European countries, I met people from different parts of the world and also cultures that are very different from ours.

All this helped me a lot to broaden my horizons, and beyond academics, it made me grow a lot as a person. If at any time you have the possibility of going abroad to study, don’t hesitate to take the risk. It may be scary at first, but in the end, it’s all worth it.

“My name is Roser Rojas and a year ago I started what would be the most enriching experience of my life. I studied Journalism at the Pompeu Fabra University located in Barcelona, Spain. The house of studies is excellent and my classmates and teachers were always willing to help me. Also, Barcelona is a multicultural city, so I constantly met people with a totally different way of thinking than mine. Thanks to this, today I have friends from Spain, Italy and Germany. The experience of living alone on another continent can be difficult at first, but as the days go by you get used to it and realize how capable you are as a person. This experience not only allowed me to learn how classes are conducted at a prestigious foreign university, but also gave me the tools to be more independent and adaptable in an unfamiliar environment. I highly recommend an exchange for the possibility of meeting people from other cultures, learning more about the degree and discovering oneself as a person”.

“Hello! My name is Lissette González, I’m in my fourth year of Business Engineering and I did an exchange semester at the University of Granada. Since I started my degree, I made it my goal to do an exchange and work hard to win the Santander scholarship, And here I am! I always knew it would be an incredible experience, but it was much more than I expected!

I was lucky to become friends with my udp colleagues who also went to Granada, we lived together and had thousands of adventures, like traveling around Europe.

I am very grateful for this experience and I think it is an opportunity that everyone should take advantage of, since you get to know new cultures, you make friends of different nationalities and it is an important personal growth, so I invite you to dare, you will not regret living this great college experience!”

The experience is a very special experiencew, one is in constant change, you are surprised and excited with each new step you take. From the university where you meet other study perspectives to the people who make up your day to day and who are from different countries. It is an excellent opportunity to learn, explore, get to know others and above all, experience new cultures. The growth that this exchange has given me is totally enriching. Don’t be afraid, cheer up, these are experiences that remain for a lifetime”

“The exchange is undoubtedly a unique experience that helps you grow as a person and as a professional, since you live and see new realities, you get to know different cultures (not only Spanish but from almost the whole world), you learn new experiences, you get to know lots of people (including friends who keep in touch) and much more.Another thing that I would like to highlight personally is the experience of being autonomous and getting out of my comfort zone, because it helped me a lot to mature and be able to solve situations on my own. The exchange marks a part of life and it is something magical, that’s why to all those who have the possibility of doing it, don’t think twice and give it your all!”

“I went on an exchange to #Barcelona, to finish my fourth year at @psicologiaudp. I studied at the UIC for one semester and I had an excellent experience. In addition, the double merit of learning the Catalan language to be able to understand the chairs in which I signed up to take it. It was a dizzying, exciting and enriching experience where, in addition to learning a language, I got to know a new culture, a romantic and wonderful city. I took a very demanding test called the OSCE of Psychology, which I passed with a 9 of 10. Without a doubt, it was a challenging experience because I went in the middle of the covid-19 pandemic, where Barcelona suffered regional closures. I had classes in a hybrid format but mostly face-to-face. I made the most of my stay at the General Hospital of Catalonia in where I made clinical observations in a mirror room, and I learned a lot about the way of doing psychology in Europe”.

Nadia was an assistant in different courses, an insertion mentor and currently has a degree in Psychology “I am about to start my professional practice in August, very happy about the opportunities that the udp offered me. Without a doubt, these are experiences that I will treasure all my life, since they have made me grow personally and academically in a way that I did not think possible.”

“In my student exchange at the University of Salamanca I discovered different educational realities, I got to know different cultures, places and ways of life that enriched me with new perspectives both in my personal and professional life. By doing an exchange you have the opportunity to leave your area of comfort, generating autonomy and the ability to face new challenges and without a doubt to make friends, who became very important people in my life”

Mariana met another UDP student at USAL, Matías Martínez from @historia_udp, with whom she formed a beautiful friendship, and both make a call to those who want to apply for the next #IntercambioUDP call. With my partner Matías who also made the exchange to USAL, we invite you to try it, if you have the opportunity, because it really is an opportunity to get to know yourself and in any case it will be an unforgettable experience.”

“My experience with the exchange has meant one of the biggest challenges as a person and as a student. Living abroad for a few months can be entertaining, but at the same time it means a journey where you realize what you are capable of and what the new skills that you can acquire. You meet different people and cultures, you face a new world where you can discern what you like or not. Ideas are clarified. It is a journey of introspection, full of learning and beautiful memories” .

“I did my exchange at the Autonomous University of Madrid, an institution that I can only praise due to its incredible Campus, infrastructure and constant activities that made my stay very enjoyable. Regarding Madrid I have no words, it is such a magical city that captivated me from the first minute and in a short time it became my second home.

The exchange gave me unforgettable and priceless experiences thanks to the friendships I forged, the places I got to know, and the dreams I was able to fulfill. However, the most important thing for me was being able to meet myself again and know where I want to be tomorrow. Without a doubt, making this exchange was the best decision I could have made.”
