Application process begins for the 2027-1 International Mobility Call

Wednesday April 22nd, 2026

“That is today’s invitation: start dreaming of spending a semester abroad to transfer credits, transform as individuals, and project your academic, professional, and personal lives into another part of the world.”

With these words, Anoek van den Berg, Director General of the International Relations Directorate (DGRRII), launched the International Mobility call for the first semester of 2027.

The call was presented during an open talk for the student community, an activity designed to explain the steps of the process, application requirements, available destinations, and the various funding options currently available to students.

In this context, Anoek van den Berg highlighted the importance of this new call, noting that internationalization processes are an integral part of student formation. “We know Spain is the goal for many, but today we want to broaden your horizons to other countries and destinations. Diego Portales University has access to a highly prestigious network of agreements,” she emphasized.

Richard Gillibrand, Student Mobility Coordinator at the General Directorate of International Relations, pointed out that students can apply to more than 25 countries. In total, he mentioned, there are more than 300 spots available per year.

He also stressed the importance of an informed and responsible application: “The International Mobility call represents a great opportunity for students to expand their international academic background. Therefore, it is essential to stay properly informed about requirements, deadlines, and conditions by checking official channels and resolving doubts in advance. Good preparation allows students to make the most of this experience and apply with greater confidence and awareness,” he commented.

During the event, attendees asked various questions about the process. Additionally, a group of students shared their internationalization experiences, including:

  • Constanza Olivares (Kinesiology), who completed an exchange at the State University of Santa Catarina (Brazil).
  • Benjamín Garín (Sociology), who traveled to the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
  • Benjamín Morales (Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering), who completed his exchange at Hochschule München (Germany).

The 2027-1 International Mobility call will remain open until May 30, 2026. During this period, the DGRRII will continue to support applicants through various orientation and guidance sessions.
