International Internships

Did you know that you can carry out your professional practice abroad? We tell you how to find out if it applies to you. First of all, you must see if your degree requires an internship to graduate or not. If it is included in your study plan, you will need to review the internship or rotation requirements in the case of medicine or health studies (number of hours and others). . Knowing what the requirements of your practice are allows you to look for alternatives abroad. You could choose to take the “practice” course during your exchange and, complying with the requirements of your school, do it during your stay at another. Through the host university you can access to look for places, or, do it on your own, as long as you can formalize it through the UDP and/or the host university. In this way, apart from the practice, you will be able to choose another subject that remains pending or serves to broaden/deepen your knowledge. Be sure to find out about your particular case with our mobility coordinator through [email protected] and also discuss it with your school’s internship coordinator.

The Australia-Latin America Business Council (ALABC) was established in 1989, and today their membership comprises of leading companies and individuals who are at the forefront of forging business links between Australia and Latin America.

Their goal is to provide Latin American students with a platform to discover and apply for internships with Australian companies. They aim at connecting talented individuals from Latin America with Australian businesses seeking fresh perspectives and new talent.

If you are interested in participating in this program, we kindly ask that you review the available internships and fill out the application form if you meet all the requirements. Additionally, we are providing a proposed agreement template that outlines the expectations and responsibilities of both the host company and the intern.

After evaluating the applications, ALABC will send the host company a list of suitable candidates within four weeks of this publication. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to workplace diversity and inclusivity, and join us in creating a brighter future for both Australian companies and Latin American students.

Today more and more jobs require advanced digital skills but only 36% of the labor force has them. One of the purposes of the Digital Opportunity Traineeships initiative is to encourage students and recent graduates from all disciplines to undertake traineeships that strengthen digital skills. This will increase their employability and enable them to obtain valuable work experience abroad. Traineeships are open to both women and men. Women are particularly encouraged to apply as they are currently underrepresented in STEM careers.
