The REF magazine, belonging to the French Institute of Chile, published in its most recent version a story prepared by the secretary of the UDP School of Medical Technology, Margarita Soto González.

The text, titled “The Mortal Hole” (“Le trou mortel”, in French), narrates the memories of the protagonist, an old woman named Ofelia, during her childhood vacations, where she used to travel by train and spend time with her siblings. her. However, this story is hindered when the woman remembers her experiences around a water well that was in the patio of her house, where her younger brother lost her life.

“Since I was a child I have liked to write and it comes innately to me, but I had never published my stories, perhaps because I have a very low profile and also out of modesty. Personally, I am very happy that one of my stories is published and read by many people. That makes me feel very proud of my achievement,” comments the author of the story.

Last semester, Soto attended the first French workshop taught at the Diego Portales University, an event that allowed her to develop her text in this language. “It was an enriching experience; This is thanks to the excellent teacher we had, who taught the course in a dynamic and playful way, bringing us a little closer to her native France,” she mentions.

“I recommend taking this workshop to all those who wish to undertake new challenges and emigrate to romantic France. What I also found wonderful is that it is taught by a teacher from the French Institute,” she adds.

You can review the complete story in the September issue of REF magazine (pages 28 and 29), in the following link.
