The scholarship covers the cost of the program, and also includes accommodation, health insurance, transportation to and from the airport, and some weekend excursions.

Natalia says that she applied thinking about an opportunity to learn about another culture and at the same time, improve her level of English. “I consider that this course will allow me to develop my oral communication with classes and even outside of them, since by spending several days in an English-speaking country I can put the language into practice.”

In addition, the student highlights that the course will be taken at one of the most prestigious universities in Canada. “It is a great opportunity for which I am very grateful, since, in my opinion, Canada is a very good country and having the possibility of going to study at one of its most important universities is something very motivating.”

Regarding the benefits that speaking English has for the development of her studies, she assures that “in the area of engineering it is quite important, whether academically or professionally.”

“Most of the essential information for this area is found in English, because they are written or translated into this language, so not knowing can create barriers, and, on the other hand, knowing and having notions opens up many more opportunities and allows access to more knowledge from other parts of the world, he said.

Along these same lines, the director of the School of Computer Science and Telecommunications Engineering, Luciano Ahumada, assures that “handling a second language appropriately is certainly a relevant work skill for the technological area, and in that sense, this trip will allow (in addition to know a different culture, extend your vision and consider new challenges) enhance your resume and job opportunities.”

The manager also expresses that internationalization is a way of crossing barriers in all areas. “New realities, languages, cultural visions and technological development are known that, as a whole, contribute to expanding your own horizons, and with it, not only your expectations of professional or technological development, but of life.”
