Meet Laura Corrotea, our first international ambassador of the UDP School of Health and Dentistry

1 June 2023

Laura Corrotea is a 5th year student at the School of Nursing at the Diego Portales University, who after completing her professional practice corresponding to the Community Internship at the Alfonso X El Sabio University in Madrid (Spain), arrived in Uganda on April 26. (Africa), where he traveled six hours to the city of Kamonkoli to actively participate in a four-week volunteer program with the MOGHU Organization (Mothers of Good Hope).

Laura joined MOGHU as it is an organization that “works to provide access to education, health services, skills development and self-help to mothers in need and their children, through the development of projects that allow these groups of people to live dignified lives”, according to their website.

As the UDP Faculty of Health and Dentistry, we want to express our deep pride in Laura and the incredible social work she did in this volunteer service. Her dedication and commitment to serving people is an inspiring example to all of us. With each of her actions, on the other side of the world, she will make a transcendental mark on the lives of those who surround her today.

Our Dean, María Paz Rodríguez, points out that “as the 2023 International Ambassador of our Faculty, you are a valuable voice that promotes dialogue and collaboration in an increasingly interconnected world. Your contributions, work in the health field, and experiences will help to strengthen the ties between different cultures and foster mutual respect and understanding. We send you our most sincere congratulations and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
