Fulbright Comission opens call for applications for the Fulbright Specialist Program

The Fulbright Specialist Program (FSP) promotes collaboration and academic exchange between Chile and the United States. Its objective is for American academics and researchers to carry out stays of between 2 and 6 weeks in Chile to support the development and institutional strengthening of the university or institution that hosts them in the country.

Specialists exchange knowledge and establish partnerships that benefit participants, institutions, and communities, both in the United States and Chile.

Application Process

This program includes two application stages. On the one hand, that of the American academic who applies, through the Roster, to develop his area of specialization abroad and, on the other, that of a university or institution interested in inviting a specialist from a specific program and for a period of time. established to develop its project in Chile. Activities

Through this program, those selected will be able to carry out academic and research stays in Higher Education Institutions and Research Centers in Chile, through which they will be able to apply their knowledge and experiences in various activities. The American academics will contribute with their expertise and, at the same time, will learn from Chilean university work, increasing links between institutions in our country and the United States.

Financing

The Program is funded jointly by the Fulbright Commission and the host university or institution. Fulbright Commission Contribution: Round-trip airfare; US$200 daily stipend for the Fulbright Specialist; and health and accident insurance. Contribution from the Chilean university or institution: The Chilean university or institution contributes the minimum suggested amounts for the accommodation and food expenses of the Fulbright Specialist Program. The program may accept alternatives such as, for example, the delivery of lunch vouchers at the university or institution’s casino, or some other service that the institution considers appropriate for the visit.
