10 October 2023

On Monday, October 2, in the auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences and History, the General Directorate of International Relations (DGRII) held an informative talk about the launch of the call to carry out a student exchange during the second semester of 2024.

On the occasion, the general director of International Relations, Anoek van den Berg, provided basic information about the process and delved into the importance and academic and professional benefits of carrying out a student exchange.

According to her, these experiences not only expand the horizon of the student body, but also allow the internationalization of the resumes of future professionals through the development of a second language, the cultivation of new knowledge and the creation of networks of contacts in other countries. .

“They will be able to project their career, their discipline, at an international level and according to a different perspective than what we teach at the UDP. We work with partners worldwide, who are leaders in their fields of study, precisely so that they can expand their knowledge,” said Anoek van den Berg.

In the talk, the DGRII team explained how to apply for the call and provided recommendations to face the process. Richard Gillibrand, coordinator of International Student Mobility, said that it is important for students to review all the options available to apply for a student exchange. This, since according to him, there are several alternatives compatible with the disciplines that are cultivated in the UDP.

“The reality is that a quarter of the places are occupied. So, there are possibilities. In fact, the idea is that they think about all the available destinations. I know that many students think of Spain, but we have many more destinations,” he said.

During the talk, testimonies from students who already carried out their exchanges were shared. Likewise, new information activities regarding the process were announced. In this sense, during the coming weeks meetings and information stands will be held in the different faculties of the University. Check the program here.

Currently, the UDP has more than 270 spots with prestigious institutions present in more than 25 countries. To apply, students must attend from the third semester of their degree onwards, among other requirements. The call will be open until November 15.
