UDP authorities meet with the Vice-Rector for Internationalization of Pompeu Fabra University to deepen collaborative activities

On Friday, June 14, Cristobal Marín, Provost; Anoek van den Berg, General Director of International Relations; Marcela Aguilar, dean of the Faculty of Communication and Letters; Rodrigo Garrido, dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences; and Patricia Muñoz, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, met with the Vice-Rector for Internationalization at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), Helena Ramalhinho.

The meeting was held with the objective of reinforcing the links that have existed for more than 10 years between both academic institutions and in order to explore new collaborations.

Anoek van den Berg, General Director of International Relations, stated that the UDP has several active agreements with this House of Studies in areas such as Advertising, Business, Administration and Economics, and Law.

“We are looking at how to reaffirm the relationship we have with them to broaden and deepen the collaborations we have had at the master’s level, joint supervision, and undergraduate exchanges,” she said.

“The agreements we have with Pompeu Fabra University allow us to work with this highly prestigious university so that students have access to information and research opportunities, in addition to highlighting that UPF is a university similar to UDP in terms of size , origin, quality and recognition”, added the General Director of International Relations.

For her part, the dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Patricia Muñoz, commented that “the meeting held with the Vice-Rector for Internationalization of Pompeu Fabra University was very enjoyable” and highlighted the “great spirit of collaboration” that took place at the meeting .

In this sense, the academic authority referred to the agreement that the Faculty of Medicine maintains with this institution. According to her, this program allows 3 or 4 students from Pompeu Fabra University to participate in a rotation, especially in Primary Care or in low-complexity Hospitals. “On the other hand, our students carry out a 5-week elective internship at the UPD annually (Neurology, Imaging, among others),” she stated.

In this way, the Dean of Medicine valued the exchange of ideas that took place at the meeting and expressed: “We agree to strengthen ties to explore other initiatives that allow the establishment of strategic alliances.”

It should be noted that this meeting is taking place within the framework of the axes of international cooperation and mobility contained in the Internationalization Policy of the UDP. In turn, these points are related to the strategic guidelines of the campus, which aim at a comprehensive training of all students.
