Reinforcing the importance of internationalization in academic training, the collaboration agreement between the Faculty of Administration and Economics (FAE) and the Catholic University of Louvain (UCLouvain), Belgium, was recently renewed and expanded.
This agreement was finalized ten years after the original partnership, which established the mobility of undergraduate and master’s students between the FAE and the Belgian university. In this new version, the exchange also benefits doctoral students, coinciding with the FAE’s launch this year of its Doctoral Program in Management Sciences.
The formalization of the agreement, which also includes researchers, took place during the first week of November with a visit from the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FAE), Mauricio Villena, to the University of Clonova’s School of Business (LSM). There, he met with the Dean of LSM, Matthieu de Nanteuil, and the Vice Dean of International Relations, Professor Amélie Jacquemin.
During the meeting, the academic authorities of both institutions also discussed various aspects that could strengthen the agreement. These included cooperation between the FAE UDP Entrepreneurship specialization and the LSM Entrepreneurship Track; the exchange of students from the UDP full-time Master’s program and the possibility of a dual degree; and the implementation of practical opportunities that integrate UDP students into real business projects.
Dean Villena expressed his enthusiasm for this “new opportunity for integration with the leading European academic community,” which, he affirmed, translates into concrete opportunities for both students and faculty.
In this regard, he mentioned that the agreement establishes the possibility for “our students—including doctoral candidates—to take courses, participate in seminars, and undertake research stays in accordance with the regulations of both institutions; and for our faculty to develop short courses and collaborate on joint projects. We will also receive students and professors from LSM annually, enriching our classrooms with European and global perspectives.”
The official emphasized that, ultimately, this renewal “is a bridge of quality, based on the principles of academic excellence, transparent processes, and comprehensive support for mobility.”
The Catholic University of Louvain is one of the oldest universities in Europe and is recognized for its academic excellence. It currently holds the 191st position in the QS 2025 World University Rankings.
