The event brought together those who teach General Education Courses in English to analyse results, share experiences, and address the challenges of the upcoming academic period.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

On June 16, the General Office of International Relations held a workshop with the lecturers who teach General Education Courses (CFGs) in English at Universidad Diego Portales. The event, held at the Nicanor Parra Library, brought together eight academics in a space dedicated to sharing effective teaching practices and reviewing institutional guidelines for the next term.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the meeting, data on the evolution of this academic offer were presented, which forms part of the University’s global education strategy. Since 2022, CFGs in English have experienced sustained growth, expanding from three subjects to seven term-long courses, with an enrolment rate exceeding 85% of available places and delivering positive outcomes for participating students.<\/span><\/p>\n

As explained by Anoek van de Berg, Director General of International Relations, the initiative is part of UDP’s internationalisation policy. In this context, CFGs in English allow students to share learning spaces, enriching the academic experience through the exchange of perspectives.<\/span><\/p>\n

“One of the strengths of these courses is that they integrate an international dimension within the standard curricular training. This is not an experience they have to undertake outside of their degree programmes, but an opportunity available to students as part of the University’s academic offer,” van de Berg highlighted.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We want to keep growing, expand the variety of courses, and continue strengthening both the students’ learning experience and teaching tools to make the most of English in academic and professional contexts,” van de Berg concluded.<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking ahead, UDP plans to expand this offering. Among the goals for 2027 is to reach ten CFGs in English per term, maintaining the quality standards achieved and diversifying the subjects available to students.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
