The agreement will primarily allow students to take courses, undertake clinical placements, pursue research internships, and engage in activities related to Master&#8217;s theses. Furthermore, it opens new possibilities for academic and scientific collaboration between the institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The agreement covers the faculties of Law, Medicine, Health, and Odontology at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is worth noting that Ghent University was founded in 1817 and possesses an extensive track record in internationalisation and research. In addition, it is recognised as one of the leading higher education institutions in Belgium and Europe, ranking 162nd in the QS World University Rankings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anoek van den Berg, Director General of International Relations, explained: &#8220;This initiative stems from a Ghent University delegation that visited UDP in 2025, and a subsequent visit from UDP to Ghent by the deans of Medicine, Health and Odontology in March this year. It seeks to strengthen joint research areas as well as to generate student and academic exchanges.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She also highlighted that &#8220;the agreement includes balanced exchanges, with academic recognition of studies completed abroad, and opens up opportunities for international educational experiences in highly specialised areas, including clinical placements and research.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Dean of the Faculty of Health and Odontology, Mar\u00eda Paz Rodr\u00edguez, underlined the importance of this new alliance: &#8220;In the field of research, priority areas for collaboration were defined, such as ageing, mental health, oncology, and reproduction, highlighting the potential to develop multicentre studies with intercultural validity, co-supervision of theses, and high-impact joint publications. In odontology specifically, we will move forward with collaborative research projects in Haptic Simulation as a fundamental strategy in the educational process.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand, Mat\u00edas Gonz\u00e1lez, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, noted: &#8220;Ghent boasts a long-standing Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, with well-recognised strengths in basic and clinical biomedical research, which represents a strategic complement to the profile that our Faculty is consolidating.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This agreement joins other international accords currently in force at the University, further strengthening and complementing its internationalisation process.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This alliance is focused on strengthening international academic cooperation and promoting greater mobility for students and academics between the two universities.
