With the goal of expanding and strengthening cooperative ties with King’s College London, UDP officials met with Liviu Matei, director of the King’s School of Education, Communication & Society (ECS) and professor of Higher Education and Public Policy.<\/p>\n
The meeting took place on Thursday, September 25, and was attended by Pro-Rector Crist\u00f3bal Mar\u00edn; Carlos Ahumada, Coordinator of International Cooperation at the General Directorate of International Relations; Paula Louzano, Dean of the Faculty of Education; and Cristi\u00e1n Cox, Director of the Center for Comparative Policies in Education.<\/p>\n
The relationship between the two universities began in 2016, when an initial collaboration agreement was signed. This agreement was renewed earlier this year, extending until 2030. In this context, Carlos Ahumada highlighted the importance of this meeting: “We are very happy to welcome our colleagues from King’s College London.”<\/p>\n
\u201cThis time, the idea is to expand our existing collaboration agreement a little further (\u2026), because, currently, it only covers the Faculty or Department of International Studies at King’s College. The idea is to see what other synergies we can find to develop teaching research, teaching internships, and opportunities for our doctoral programs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
For his part, Professor Liviu Matei expressed his interest in learning more about Diego Portales University and stated that the UDP is a strategic partner in King’s College’s international cooperation activities. \u201cMy professional area is higher education policy, so I have a personal interest in these types of agreements. We are here with the idea of \u200b\u200breactivating or strengthening the exchange agreement with the University,\u201d he commented.<\/p>\n
This meeting reinforces the commitment of both entities to continue developing international alliances that promote academic exchange, research, and mutual growth in different areas of knowledge.
